Coffee & Tea Buying Guide

Get Your Fixx · A guide to your next cup

How do I choose the right coffee or tea?

Start with the flavors you enjoy and the way you prepare your drink. For coffee, compare roast, origin, flavor notes and grind. For tea, compare the leaf or botanical ingredients, the style of tea and its preparation. Then use the individual product page to confirm the details of your selection.

Single origin, blend or flavored coffee?

Single-origin coffee lets you explore the character of a named growing region. Blends bring coffees together for a particular cup profile. Flavored coffees add an intentionally named flavor to the coffee base. These are different ways to enjoy coffee, and your preference can change with the occasion.

What you enjoy Where to begin What to compare
Chocolate, caramel or a familiar everyday cup Coffee blends The roast level, body and tasting profile of each blend.
Exploring growing regions and processing Single-origin coffee Origin, process, roast and the specific notes published for that coffee.
Vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate or seasonal flavor Naturally flavored coffee The added flavor profile and the available brewing format.
Tasting several coffees before a larger order Coffee sample packs Which six ground-coffee samples are included in each pack.
A single-serve format Coffee pods Pack size, coffee profile and the requirements of your brewer.

Which roast should I choose?

Use roast as one reference, then read the actual tasting notes. For a lighter espresso blend, explore Blonde. For a darker espresso option, compare 6 Bean Blend. If fruit-led single origins appeal to you, explore the published profiles of Costa Rica and Ethiopia Natural. Brewing method, grind and recipe also shape your finished cup.

Do tasting notes mean flavors were added?

Tasting notes such as chocolate, citrus or berries describe the sensory profile of a coffee. They are different from an intentionally flavored coffee. Our product descriptions identify naturally flavored coffees as flavored selections; read the specific product information when ingredients or dietary requirements matter to your choice.

How do I choose artisan tea?

Begin with the type of cup you want: brisk black tea, fragrant green tea, a botanical infusion, or a whisked tea powder. The ingredients and style are more useful starting points than the name alone.

Tea style Explore Character and preparation
Black tea and spiced black tea English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Masala Chai Compare the leaf blend, bergamot or spices. Infuse the leaves, then strain.
Fragrant green tea Jasmine and Moroccan Mint Compare floral jasmine with gunpowder green tea, peppermint and spearmint.
Fruit-flavored black tea Peach Paradise and Mango Treat Explore the ingredients and hot or iced preparation on each product page.
Naturally caffeine-free herbal infusions Apple Cider Rooibos and Hibiscus Berry Tea Compare the rooibos, botanicals and flavoring listed for each infusion.
Tea powders Ceremonial matcha and Hojicha Compare matcha’s creamy umami with hojicha’s toasted, nutty profile. Whisk the powder into water.

Is Moroccan Mint caffeine-free?

Our Moroccan Mint contains gunpowder green tea as well as peppermint and spearmint. It is a green-tea blend, rather than a mint-only herbal infusion. For a selection identified as naturally caffeine-free, explore Apple Cider Rooibos or Hibiscus Berry Tea.

Make preparation part of the choice.

Choose an available coffee grind that suits your brewer, or whole beans if you prefer to grind at home. Single-serve pods, instant coffee, bagged coffee and ground sample packs are distinct formats; review the product page before ordering.

For tea, follow the specific leaf weight, water temperature and time provided on its product page. Loose-leaf teas are infused and strained; matcha and hojicha powders are whisked. Different teas have different preparation guidance, so one universal recipe will not represent the whole collection.
