Word on the Street – Donald Trump is having an Affair?

June 30, 2010 · Posted in Entertainment · Comment

We all know is the year of of celebrity affairs, but Donald Trump? I read this article http://celebrityaffairs.net/2010/06/is-donald-trump-having-an-affair-again/, and it had me thinking its not so far fetched. Donald Trump had an intense affair scandal in the late 80s, then a 2nd divorce in the late 90s. Thrown in some interesting reality tv ventures, it doesn’t surprise me if he’s up to his old tricks again. Hopefully his smarter about it and can keep it tight lipped. Hopefully the Ashley Madison billboards in Atlantic City or the Maxim two page Ashley Madison spread doesn’t make the Donald sweat too much!

US Loses to Ghana Again – Will Soccer Survive in the US ?

June 26, 2010 · Posted in Sports · Comment

It’s ashame to go from the high last week to the low loss this week. As you were watching the game, you just felt Ghana was playing better. While many consider this a great effort for the United States, it still will hurt US soccer. You have a sport that is the top play sport from pre-teens through the teen years, then a huge drop off after that. It’s the only sport where you see such a drop off.

What americans need to see is a United States powerhouse in the World Cup. We’ll have to wait another four years to see if that is the case, til then, you can expect the MLS soccer league to drift downwards in attendance and in revenue. The support and energy levels needed to bring soccer to the next level unfortunately is not there in the United States

The World Cup just Brings the Kid Out in You

There I was watching the US Nigeria game. The US had so many chances and were just unlucky. With 4 minutes of stoppage time, it just didnt look like it was going to happen. Then out of nowhere, a surge of energy comes and they score. You know, its the one sport, the one event, where you feel like you are on the field with the players. I don’t think I’ve celebrated like that in a VERY long time. American football, baseball, while exciting, doesn’t provide the magnitude that a solid World Cup game came

Giants Stadium to be named What!

June 11, 2010 · Posted in Sports · Comment

The naming rights of the newest nfl stadium is highly sought after. I mean, the dallas cowboys dont have a sponsor yet. But by doing so, they increase the value of their brand, which is tops in the NFL. The Giants on the other hand, have a stadium that is split with the Jets.  Couple this with being in the New York market, you have a great combination for an advertiser. But please, no damn financial companies please! Let that ashley madison Giants Stadium proposal make its way to the stadium

Don’t Cheat Yourself!

June 11, 2010 · Posted in Exercise · Comment

Ever have that workdout where you convince yourself to cheat on a set, a rep.. basically to mentally feel better. But you know, as time goes on, those “cheats” continue to maximize. It gets to a point that you start half assin your workouts, the way your eat. They you wonder why you aren’t strong enough, can’t lose weight, etc. Next time you’re working out by yourself and you want to cut your workouts short, ask yourself what you would do if you had a trainer pushing you

How to get a Higher Payout? Go through a Super Affiliate

June 5, 2010 · Posted in Affiliate · Comment

I’ve been an affiliate for 5 years, and the first two years were incredibly hard for me.
There’s a plethora of information and theories out there, most of which is complete junk.
Unfortunately, you don’t realize why its junk until you pass the newbie stage.

Blackhatworld has its up and down, but overall does a great job in allowing your mind to take ideas and spin them in your favor.
The one thing that is not discussed much here is the concept of super affiliates.
Now, I’m not talking about bringing in affiliates through your tracking code to get a piece of their commission, but rather the bigger picture.

Here’s a real life example:

My affiliate revenue all comes from the matchmaking industry.
Generally, you sign up as an affiliate with a network.
The real revenue is going direct with the advertiser.

Does shaving occur?
In some aspect, every advertiser shaves.
You involve a network, advertisers will shave an even higher percent to offset the high amounts of fraud, and to cover additional costs to be on the network.

Now, how do you negotiate a better commission rate with an advertiser?
Let’s say the standard pay per sale percentage for affiliates is 60%.
If you attempt to secure a higher rate, the advertiser will say “you show us the volume, we can discuss it”.
Well, that sucks for affiliates. I mean, why bring in volume at a lower percentage when you deserve more.
Well, that’s where the concept of a super affiliate comes in.

Did you know if an affiliate program has 10,000 affiliates, less than 1% of their affiliates attribute to 85% of their affiliate revenue?
Now, don’t think like an affiliate, think like an advertiser. The advertiser will bend over backwards for the affiliates they consider to be in that 1%.
Now imagine if you are at the top of that 1%, can you imagine the pull that “super affiliate” has with the advertiser?

The hardest part is finding that 1% (which I am for one specific program).
What if I told you I can take your standard 60% and make it 85% instantly?
That’s the power of a super affiliate, depending upon how strong his relationship is with the advertiser.

Don’t forget, a brand has many aspects to the business that does not include affiliate marketing.
That super affiliate, the smart ones that is, will be involved in other areas than affiliate marketing with the brand.

To recap:
1. Find a super affiliate for a brand that you are looking to promote (ideally you are already promoting in that space of for their competitors)

2. Indicate what you are looking for. After all, a super affiliate does not have to deal with 10,000+ affiliates and lose you in the bunch

Remember, it all comes down to relationships at the end of the day.
The affiliate / advertiser relationship normally is one of distrust.
However, an affiliate / super affiliate relationship is not.
